Company Background Information:

Pat Bivens grew up on a large ranching and cattle feeding operation in Payette, Idaho. He is a 1986 graduate of the University of Idaho and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Economics / Agribusiness. In January of 1987, he began working for Continental Grain Co. in Pasco, Washington purchasing wheat for export from regional farmers and merchandising local feed grains to area feed manufacturers and integrated egg producers. In November of 1989, he transferred with Continental Grain to Stockton, Ca. to continue similar grain origination and merchandising efforts with regional California farmers and feedmills throughout California and the west coast.

In August of 1995, he accepted a position with Bioproducts - Nutrius as a sales representative for Vitamin and Trace Mineral supplement sales to feed mills and commercial accounts throughout California, Oregon, & Nevada.

In August of 1997, he accepted a merchandising position with Cargill Animal Nutrition as the Pacific Coast regional merchant. In this capacity, he was involved in all facets of feed ingredient purchasing, merchandising, and risk management for over 30 ingredients at 9 different Cargill Animal Nutrition locations in California, Washington, Idaho, Utah, and Arizona.

He left Cargill Animal Nutrition in June of 2009 in order to launch Bivens & Company, LLC., a company dedicated to helping dairymen save money by providing professional management expertise in all facets of their feed purchasing program.

With 22+ years of experience, he has a very strong understanding of the diverse feed ingredients that are available for dairymen to utilize in their business today. He knows where to get these ingredients and how to get them delivered to your location for the best possible cost.
